Board rules
Short version: this is a public board that people from a school
read. Do not post anything you would not say with a teacher standing behind
you — because sooner or later, one will be.
What gets removed
- Slurs and hate. Anything aimed at somebody's race,
religion, nationality, gender, sexuality or disability. There is no version
of this that counts as a joke here.
- Harassment and threats. Going after a person, piling on,
or telling anyone to hurt themselves.
- Sexual content. Any of it. People here are at school.
- Personal information. Real names, addresses, phone
numbers, class schedules, photos of people who did not agree to it. Yours or
anybody else's.
- Illegal things. Drugs, weapons, pirated files, stolen
accounts.
- Spam. Links, advertising, and holding a key down.
- Pretending to be someone else. Especially a teacher, and
especially somebody at your school.
How this is actually enforced
Not by hoping. There are three layers:
- A word filter blocks the obvious before it ever posts,
including the creative spellings. It is not clever, but it is stubborn.
- Rate limits — five messages a minute, sixty an hour, no
links at all.
- Everything posted is stored with the time and the IP address it came
from, and anything can be removed. Keep at it and the
address stops being able to post.
Seen something that should go? Use the
report page. It reaches the person who
maintains this and nobody else.
If someone is actually in trouble
If you or someone you know is struggling, a games board is not where that
gets handled, and none of us here are equipped for it. In the US you can call
or text 988 — the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline — any time, and
it is free. Elsewhere, a local crisis line will be a search away. Telling an
adult you trust is not a defeat.
The point
This board exists so people who play these games can talk to each other.
That is all it needs to be. Everything above is just the short list of ways
people ruin that for everyone else.
These rules can change if they need to. Changes show up in the
changelog, like everything else here.
