URETHANE ARCADE LED

About

Three browser games, made one at a time, by somebody who should have been revising.

What this is

Urethane Arcade is a small set of games that run in a browser tab. They are free to play, they need no account, and there is nothing to install. Each one is made by one person and updated when there is something worth changing — the changelog is the honest record of that.

The games are free and stay free. Some cosmetics are not — skins and the like cost a little, which is what keeps the updates coming. Nothing that costs money changes how a game plays, and nothing about a game is locked behind it.

How they are built

Gull Force One and CHEERS are drawn on a plain HTML canvas with no game engine underneath them. Gull Force One is a single file — the whole game, art and sound included, arrives in one request. FOUR uses 3D graphics in the browser. None of them phone home, and none of them need a server to play: once the page has loaded, the game is running on your device.

Saving

Progress, unlocks and settings are stored in your own browser, on your own device. There is no account to make and nothing is uploaded, which also means clearing your browser data clears your progress, and a run started on a phone will not appear on a laptop.

Playing on a touchscreen

Every control works with a finger. Not just movement — menus, upgrade choices, shops, confirmations and rebinding all take taps, and buttons are sized for thumbs rather than mouse pointers. A phone or a Chromebook is a proper way to play these, not a compromise.

Found something broken?

Say so on the report page. Half the entries in the changelog exist because somebody could not beat a level and turned out to be right about why.

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

— attributed to Thomas Edison, who never had to explain to anyone why the freeze bug only happened on the second floor.
