REMEMBER ME

A first-person horror game. We are not going to tell you what it is about — only that it is the best thing we have made, and that you should play it at night, with the sound up.

Red tube slides and rainbow wave slides inside a dark play structure. A field at dusk, a low building and a tall sign on the hill. A glowing red PLAYLAND sign among dark steel frames. A narrow walkway across a sea of coloured balls, in the dark.

Windows only. This is not a browser game like the others here. It is a program for a Windows PC — not a Chromebook, a Mac, a phone or a tablet.

Windows

One file. Nothing to install. You download a single program, double-click it, and you are playing. No zip, no installer, no account.

It is a horror game, and it means it. Jump scares, flashing lights and blood. When something catches you, it turns your PC's volume all the way up for a few seconds. It asks before it starts.

DOWNLOAD FOR WINDOWS

RememberMe.exe · 399 MB · free.

How to play it

  1. Click Download for Windows. It is a big file, so give it a minute.
  2. Open your Downloads folder and double-click RememberMe.exe.
  3. If a blue box appears saying “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway.

That is all — the game starts. Mouse to look, W A S D to move, Shift to run, E to use things, F for the torch, Esc to pause.

Why Windows warns you

We are student developers, and we have not bought a code-signing certificate — the paid ID that tells Windows who made a program. Windows warns about every downloaded program that does not have one, so it will warn about this one the first time. That is all the warning means here.

If your browser says the file “isn't commonly downloaded”, choose to keep it — in Edge, click … next to the download, then Keep, then Keep anyway. On a school computer the school may block it; if so, play it at home instead.

What it needs

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and a keyboard and mouse. Any graphics card or chip from the last ten years will do. To get rid of it, delete RememberMe.exe — there is nothing else to uninstall.

Credits and licences for the engine, fonts, sounds and music it uses.
